Summer 2026

Overview

Our summer program is designed for athletes ages 7-18, from brand-new runners to elite competitors. EDT offers a supportive, growth-focused environment that develops confidence, skills, and performance — while also providing high-level training for advanced athletes.Train for distance track events (800m and up), and cross country races,  while building endurance, speed, and race-day confidence. Athletes may compete in indoor, outdoor, and national-level meets throughout the season.

*Sibling Discount: $100 off each additional athlete (full season only; not applicable for high school prep option or prorated dues)

Season Structure

Training Schedule

  • May: 4:30–5:45pm (Mon / Tue / Thu)
  • June & July: 8:00–9:15am (Mon / Tue / Thu)
  • Athletes should plan to attend at least two practices each week.

All ages and grades (7–18; 1st–12th grade) are welcome.


Season Structure

  • Full summer of individualized, age-appropriate coaching
  • Optional weekly training plan including:
    • Strength and core
    • Mobility and plyometrics
    • Additional age-appropriate runs
  • In-practice emphasis on:
    • Strength, Nutrition guidance, Mental preparedness, and Race strategy and pacing
  • Data-driven development using metrics, progress tracking, and race goals

Philosophy

EDT fosters growth and confidence in new and developing runners, while creating an environment of excellence for elite-level athletes. Training emphasizes effort, accountability, and enjoyment of the sport.

Prerequisites:

  1. Age 7+
  2. Genuine interest in running and improving
  3. Ability to run 800m (½ mile) without walking

  • Option for full summer training with advanced, individualized, data-focused coaching
  • Supplemental runs prescribed to prepare athletes for the upcoming high school season


  • Athletes may also choose a partial season (through June 15) if they transition to their high school program or wish to compete at Hoka/Nike with EDT (cost is $250 for partial season).

  • Supplemental runs prescribed to prepare athletes for the upcoming high school cross country season
  • This is intended for athletes who plan to transition to their high school programs mid-summer, or wish to train with EDT to attend Hoka/Nike Meets.

Locations

For training, we will rotate between locations that are within 5-10 minutes of Southlands Shopping Center  and Aurora Reservoir such as:  Red Tailed Hawk Park, Boulder Park, Anchor Point Park, Fox Ridge Middle School, and Polk Park. 


*Practices may be shifted/canceled when close to a race

**Training  specifics are loaded into team app, available upon joining of the team.
