Summer 2026

 May 11 – August 1
 

Our summer running program welcomes athletes ages 7 and up — from first-time runners to experienced competitors. EDT provides a supportive, growth-focused environment that builds confidence, develops skills, and challenges athletes to reach new performance levels. Summer is the perfect time to build your base, sharpen your skills, and enjoy the run with EDT.


Program Overview

Train for distance track events (800m and up) while improving endurance, speed, pacing, and race-day confidence. Athletes can compete in a variety of meets throughout the summer, including opportunities for national-level events.


Training Schedule

  • May: 4:30–5:45pm (Mon / Tue / Thu)
  • June & July: 8:00–9:15am (Mon / Tue / Thu)
  • Athletes should plan to attend at least two practices each week.

All ages and grades (7–18; 1st–12th grade) are welcome.


Season Structure

  • Full summer of individualized, age-appropriate coaching
  • Optional weekly training plan including:
    • Strength and core
    • Mobility and plyometrics
    • Additional age-appropriate runs
  • In-practice emphasis on:
    • Strength development
    • Nutrition guidance
    • Mental preparedness
    • Race strategy and pacing
  • Data-driven development using metrics, progress tracking, and race goals
     

Age Groups & Training Blocks

  • High School Training (Grades 9–12) $450 full season
    May 11 – August 1
    • Option for full summer training with advanced, individualized, data-focused coaching
    • Supplemental runs prescribed to prepare athletes for the upcoming high school season
    • Athletes may also choose a partial season (through June 15) if they transition to their high school program or are competing at national meets (cost is $250 for partial season).
       
  • Youth (Ages 7-14) $450 full season
    May 11 – August 1
    • Full-season distance development, race preparation, and speed work

       

A partial season is available May 11 – June 21 for:

  • 8th graders transitioning into high school summer programs
     
  • High school athletes training and competing in post-season meets with EDT such as Hoka or Nike

Prerequisites:

  1. Age 7+
  2. Genuine interest in running and improving
  3. Ability to run 800m (½ mile) without walking
     

Program Philosophy

EDT fosters growth and confidence in developing runners while maintaining an environment of excellence for advanced and elite-level athletes. Training emphasizes consistency, accountability, effort, and a lifelong enjoyment of the sport.

Training

Locations

For training, we will rotate between locations that are within 5-10 minutes of Southlands Shopping Center  and Aurora Reservoir such as:  Red Tailed Hawk Park, Boulder Park, Anchor Point Park, Fox Ridge Middle School, and Polk Park. 


*Practices may be shifted/canceled when close to a race

**Training  specifics are loaded into team app, available upon joining of the team.
