A youth running team gathers on a pathway before a race in a suburban area.

 Spring Track Program (Ages 7-18)
Whether new to running or an elite athlete, EDT provides a supportive, growth-focused environment to build confidence, skills, and performance. Train for distance events (800m+) while improving endurance, speed, and race-day readiness. Opportunities include indoor, outdoor, and national-level competitions.

 Schedule/Training

  • 13 full weeks of individualized, age-appropriate coaching
  • 3 in-person practices/week: Mon/Tue/Thu, 4:30–5:45 pm (attend at least 2 each week)
  • Optional weekly plan: strength, core, plyometrics, and extra runs tailored to ability
  • In-person focus on strength, nutrition, mental prep, and race tactics
  • Data-driven training: performance metrics and race goal tracking

 Elevated Distance Training (EDT)
EDT builds confidence and growth for new runners while pushing elite athletes to excel. Our programs, including specialized spring sessions, focus on effort, accountability, and enjoyment—while focusing on distance track events.

Prerequisites:

  • Age 7+
  • Genuine interest in running and improvement
  • Ability to run 800m (½ mile) without walking

  • Full-season of development and race preparation focused on distance track events.
  • Program emphasizes the fundamentals of running, movement skills, and age-appropriate endurance building  as suitable for young athletes.

  • Designed for both new and experienced high school runners
  •  In-person sessions on the dates listed, complemented by individualized training plans—including late December and early January as appropriate—and optional supplemental runs outside of practice, designed to maximize spring performance and readiness.

Locations


For our spring running program, we will rotate training between locations that are within 5-10 minutes of Southlands Shopping Center and Aurora Reservoir, including Red Tailed Hawk Park, Boulder Park, Anchor Point Park, Fox Ridge Middle School, and Polk Park. These locations are ideal for distance track events and will support our Elevated Distance Training efforts.


*Practices may be shifted/canceled when close to a race

*As the spring running program kicks off, there will also be several EDT races and possible other distance track events added to the schedule.

Spring Travel Meet Opportunities

We're excited to offer two amazing opportunities this Spring for athletes to travel and compete in distance track events at the national level! Both meets are completely optional and independent—you do not need to attend one to participate in the other.


1. Washburn “Be Your Best #3” – February 21, 2026

Topeka, KS

This 1-day indoor meet takes place at the brand-new Washburn facility and is open to all athletes who are interested and able to travel. It's a great way to experience fun competition in a high-quality venue, perfect for those participating in our Elevated Distance Training.

No team fee required – just a small meet registration cost and your own travel expenses.


2. Texas Distance Festival – Spring Break (March 20-21, 2026)

Southlake, TX
