Elevated Distance Training was created to be the most positive, inclusive, and excellent program that it can be. This is executed through athletes receiving quality and appropriate workouts, realistic goal setting, honest feedback, and building genuine relationships amongst coaches and teammates. By participating in EDT, athletes will become stronger, faster, and sharper. They will be well prepared to compete in both track and cross country at the middle and high school levels. Our training is tested and true for both mental and physical results.
Coach Tate has several decades in the world of distance running, all of which has been in Colorado. He spent 16 years as a head coach at the high school level. In that time, he had numerous athletes and teams receive local, state, and national recognition in cross country and track. Coach Tate has worked with athletes as young as 5 years old up to doing private training and consulting with adults. While he has worked with many types of athletes in his career, distance runners remain his passion. After starting Elevated, Coach Tate decided to step away from the high school realm to focus on building a quality foundation in younger athletes.
“I believe that the key to building a quality runner/program is relationships. Every athlete is unique and responds to stresses in different ways. What works for one athlete could prove detrimental for another. I work to make sure that all interactions are as positive and honest as possible. Building trust through relationships and experiences is the best way to achieve desired results. Once trust is established, anything is possible.
I approach running with a quality over quantity mentality, especially for youth. I believe, and have experienced, that exceptional results come from a balance of intensity and volume. More does not always mean better when it comes to running. I believe in doing constant progress monitoring which includes racing/time trials as well as pace management to achieve the best results possible. I pride myself on being a highly reflective and data driven coach. I also like to smile and be super goofy! ”
Coach Tate lives with his wife and 2 children (Kaylee and Shane) in Parker, CO. Aside from running, he loves spending time with his family, going boating, doing construction, and relaxing with his 4 dogs.

Andrea Tate, AKA “Coach Andie,” has spent her entire life around athletics. Her younger years were spent in basketball and dance, followed by her love for running in her adult life. Professionally, she has worked as a nurse in settings such as pediatric intensive care, to labor and delivery, to now her role as a school nurse. After spending 4 years coaching at the high school level, she decided to focus exclusively on youth runners as that is where her heart is.
“What is special about running to me is that anyone can do it. Everyone who works to improve can and will get better. I love sharing with athletes that while running is hard, it can also be really fun. It is important to live an active lifestyle, and even more so to enjoy doing it. I like to be silly as much as possible to keep the mood light and happy. I feel that enables me to build the best relationships with kids that I can. I take pride in being a role model for my athletes and not only teaching them lessons about running, but about life.”

Athletics have always been a passion for Coach Parks. Growing up as an avid swimmer, running was a bit more 2nd nature in her younger years. It was not until adulthood when she started seeing the value of what running had to offer.
“Growing up- running had always been a daunting idea. I would always say running was just not my thing and I belonged in the water. As an adult, I started thinking of something I wanted to accomplish that I never thought I could and landed on tackling my first 5k. I think running gave me a different perspective to what perseverance really means and building strength not only in my body but also my mind. From there, from there I was hooked.
I love coaching. I love doing something hard together and watching each person achieve goals that they never thought they could. This is my passion and I love doing it with a smile and lots of cheering. Just like my athletes, I feel I am a work in progress and always will be. I love to learn and grow, and I always want to strive for more and better. I want to guide with the example of changing mentalities of can't and changing it to will."

"I love coaching because it allows me to share my passion for running. Running is not just a physical activity; it teaches invaluable lessons about work ethic and perseverance. Each race and practice challenges these athletes to push their limits and discover what they are truly made of. It's inspiring to see how the sport fosters determination and resilience, qualities that will benefit them in all aspects of life."
